Security Camera Installation in Naples, FL
A camera that records a blurry shape at 2 a.m. is a very expensive night light.
NerdSquad designs and installs home security camera systems across Southwest Florida. Wired cameras placed for faces and license plates, clear night video, recordings kept on a recorder in your home and an app that lets you check in from anywhere.

01 · The point of it
Cameras that actually help when it matters
Most camera problems aren’t camera problems. They’re placement, lighting and network problems: a lens pointed into the afternoon sun, a doorway that’s pitch black at night or a Wi-Fi camera that drops off whenever the microwave runs.
We start with what you need to see (faces at the door, plates in the driveway, the pool gate, the dock) and work back to camera type, mounting height, lighting and wiring.
02 · Coverage, planned
Every approach covered, nothing pointed at the neighbors
Here’s how coverage might look on a typical Southwest Florida lot. Each camera has a job.

03 · What we install
A complete camera system, not a box of cameras
We design and install Ubiquiti camera systems and work with other platforms when they fit the house better.
🔌
Wired cameras
Power and data over a single cable, so cameras don’t depend on Wi-Fi or batteries.
🌙
Clear night video
Cameras and placement chosen for low light, so night footage shows faces, not shadows.
💾
Recording in your home
Footage is kept on a recorder in your home, so viewing doesn’t depend on a cloud subscription.
📱
Viewing from anywhere
Live view and playback on your phone, tablet or TV, with alerts for people and vehicles.
🚪
Doorbell cameras
See and talk to visitors from your phone, tied into the same app as the other cameras.
🌧️
Built for the weather
Outdoor-rated cameras, sealed connections and surge protection for summer storms.
Away for the season?
Check the driveway, the pool and the front door from wherever you are, and get alerts when someone shows up.
04 · Privacy and security
Your cameras shouldn’t be the weak spot
A camera on the internet is a computer on the internet. We set them up the way we set up business networks.
Strong, unique passwords and two-step sign-in on every camera account
Cameras on their own network, separated from your laptops and phones
Firmware updates kept current
Cameras aimed at your property, not into the neighbors’ windows
Access you can share with family or a property manager, and take back later
Florida law treats audio recording differently from video, so we usually set cameras to record video only and talk through audio before turning it on. That’s practical guidance, not legal advice.

Which fits your home?

Security camera FAQ
Are wired or wireless security cameras better?
For most homes, wired cameras are more reliable. One cable carries power and video, so there are no batteries to charge and no Wi-Fi drops. Wireless cameras make sense where running a cable isn’t practical, and we’ll tell you where that is.
How long are recordings kept?
It depends on the number of cameras, the recording settings and the storage in the recorder. We size storage to how far back you want to be able to look, and you can change settings later.
Can I watch my cameras from my phone?
Yes. You can see live video and play back recordings from your phone, tablet or TV, and get alerts when people or vehicles are detected.
Do the cameras keep recording if the internet goes down?
Yes, if recordings are kept on a recorder in your home. Cameras keep recording locally. Remote viewing and phone alerts need the internet and come back when the connection does.
Will I be able to see faces and license plates at night?
That’s the goal of the design. Night clarity depends on the camera, the lighting and the angle, so we place cameras for the specific job (faces at the door, plates at the driveway) instead of trying to cover everything with one wide view.
Can my cameras work with my smart home system?
Usually. Camera feeds can show up in Control4 and other automation systems, so you can see the front door on a TV or touchscreen when the doorbell rings.
Is it legal to record audio on home security cameras in Florida?
Florida generally requires consent to record conversations, so audio is more sensitive than video. We usually set cameras to record video only and talk through audio before enabling it. For legal questions, ask an attorney.
How much does a security camera system cost?
It depends on the number of cameras, the wiring and the recording setup. We don’t publish one-size prices. After a walkthrough we give you a written proposal.
